Incorporated January 1985 in Dallas, Texas, Stephens Little Inc. was formed through a management buyout of a previous firm which was founded in 1978. The majority of Stephens Little ownership was held by Bob Trost, nicknamed ‘Dean of Recruiting,’ and Dennis Little. Previously the owner of a search firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. Trost earned his reputation due to his successful track record and loyalty shown by his clients. He remained a stockholder and integral part of the company until his retirement in 1998. Dennis Little became President of Stephens Little in 1990 and added the CEO title in 1998.

TIMELINE

1985 - In October, Stephens Little acquires Business Women of Dallas, a successful direct hire administrative recruiting firm.
1990 - Stephens Little forms First Call Staffing, Inc. to provide contract/temporary administrative services.
1998 – Stephens Little expands its line of business by adding a contract/temporary division to its Accounting/Finance search group. Carolyn Wright, a CPA formerly with a Big Four firm with extensive contract staffing experience, joins the team as Vice President.
2002 – The Information Technology specialty is added to core business.
2007 – First Call Staffing, Inc. is merged into Stephens Little Inc.
2008 – The Human Resources and Sales and Marketing specialty is added to core business.
