Business-like attire is most appropriate. Neither casual wear nor dressy and revealing clothing are appropriate.

Appropriate attire for men includes any of the following:

  • Slacks and a dress shirt
  • A tie, if appropriate

Appropriate attire for women includes any of the following:

  • A suit
  • Slacks and a blouse
  • Blouse and skirt combination
  • A dress of appropriate length

Check with your consultant on the company dress code. Many employers have implemented business casual or casual attire in their dress code. When in question, adhere to professional attire.

The right mind-set — Attitude is everything. Being successful requires a positive attitude and a commitment to your job. It will also help you during the interview process.

Once you start your new career, reliability is important. Adhere to the following:

  • Arrive on time
  • Complete the tasks you’ve been assigned
  • Interact with your supervisors, co-workers and customers with honesty, integrity and a positive attitude

Punctuality — Whether you’re arriving for an interview or reporting for your first day of work, it’s important to be on time. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Be punctual and adhere to the hours you’re expected to work. If a schedule conflict arises, address it with your supervisor in advance.
